Carmina Burana in the Bargteheide Church

With Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana, the Bargteheide Church Choir realised one of its most ambitious choral-orchestral projects to date under the direction of Andis Paegle. The performance brought together Elbtonal Percussion, the North Elbe Boys Choir (Nordelbischer Knabenchor), pianists Elisaveta Ilina and Linda Leine, and the soloists Santa Karnīte, Patrick Vogel and Christoph Liebold.

The concert also marked a special milestone for Bargteheide Church: Carmina  Burana was performed here in this form for the first time. For this project, the choir was joined by additional project singers, making it possible to realise the full breadth of Orff’s monumental score—from the overwhelming power of O Fortuna to its intimate and lyrical moments.
