MoonBach Featured on Latvian Radio 1

In August 2023, Andis Paegle and violinist Azadeh Maghsoodi (Moonbach) were featured on Latvian Radio 1 following a recording session at the Latvian Radio Studio. The programme explored the duo’s distinctive repertoire, bringing together music by Johann Sebastian Bach, Astor Piazzolla and Ali Akbar Shekarchi with improvisations inspired by Persian folk melodies and Ey Iran by Ruhollah Khalegi.
During the conversation, the musicians reflected on their artistic collaboration, which began while studying in Lübeck 15 years earlier, and discussed their shared interest in Baroque music, improvisation and arranging. The recording also featured several electro-mechanical keyboard instruments played by Andis Paegle, including the Fender Rhodes, Hohner Clavinet D6 and Vintage Vibe Piano, all transported to Latvia by ship for the project.
