In May 2023, Bargteheide Church Choir (Kantorei Bargteheide) celebrated its 50th anniversary with a festive concert at the Bargteheide Church. Under the direction of Andis Paegle, the choir performed works including Antonio Vivaldi’s Gloria and motets by Johann Sebastian Bach, Johann Pachelbel and Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, together with soprano Santa Karnīte, alto Helena Poczykowska and members of the Ahrensburg Chamber Orchestra.

Founded in 1973, the choir has established a long tradition of presenting major choral works, collaborating with distinguished soloists and ensembles, and fostering international musical exchange. As its conductor since 2008, Andis Paegle continues to build on this legacy through ambitious concert programmes and an ongoing commitment to church music.
